Think maths is just numbers on a page? Think again.

Stat Attack is Bee N Spired’s advanced sports analytics and economics workshop where young people learn how data, money and decision-making shape real outcomes in professional sport.

Using Football Manager as a live simulation, participants run their own football clubs inside a custom league. They manage budgets, analyse player data, negotiate transfers and make strategic decisions under pressure.

This is not about playing a game.
It is about understanding how economics and data work in the real world, using a system young people already respect.

What young people actually learn

Stat Attack brings key economic and mathematical principles to life, including:

  • supply and demand
  • scarcity and value
  • budgeting and financial trade-offs
  • negotiation and competition
  • data analysis and interpretation

When multiple teams target the same player, demand rises and prices increase.
When budgets are limited, choices have consequences.

Young people experience these principles in action, not as abstract theory.

Standard delivery is a half-day workshop.

This depth of learning needs time.
Young people need space to understand the system, test decisions and see consequences play out.

Half-day delivery allows participants to:

  • Move beyond surface choices
  • Apply economic concepts properly
  • Reflect on what worked and what did not

Shorter or full-day delivery can be discussed on a bespoke basis where appropriate.

Curriculum links: Maths, Economics, Business, Computing and Careers.
Focus on data analysis, budgeting, supply and demand, negotiation and decision-making in real-world contexts.

A: Absolutely! Football, basketball, rugby, netball — let us know your group’s passion and we’ll tailor the stats and scenarios.

Q: Is it suitable for learners who aren’t “sporty”?
A: Yes – Stat Attack is more brains than brawn. It’s about analysis, strategy, and decision-making, not physical activity.

Q: Do participants need any prior maths knowledge?
A: Nope! We explain everything in a clear, accessible way – it’s perfect for learners who struggle with traditional maths.
